Hi- I’m Jacob Anderson.
My roots run deep in Klickitat County. My family has farmed, ranched, milled lumber, and have been business owners for 5 generations here. My goal is respect the traditions and culture of our county while ensuring we prepare for future opportunities. To always ensure the county is working for the best interests of its residents and to respect the diversity of opinions on every given subject. Together we will get through this crisis and together our communities will thrive.
I have had the distinct pleasure of serving our county as the Project Coordinator in the Natural Resources & Economic Development Department these past 5 years. I have strived to ensure our working lands remain in active timber and agricultural management. I have facilitated and managed meetings amongst diverse stakeholder groups. Worked to rehabilitate our habitat for our endangered species and have been the lead on broadband deployment throughout the county.
Since COVID hit I have been working to get grant dollars to our small businesses to help keep them from failing, to shore up their balance sheets and give them the best opportunity at success moving forward. To say it has been rewarding is an understatement. I have spent my entire adult life volunteering in our great county and I hope to continue to serve as our next County Commissioner for District 1.
